Mabula Safari Drive

Mabula is located on north Johannesburg, about two hours drive from Johannesburg. I straightly go to Mabula Private Game Reserve to see The Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Rhino, Elephant, and Buffalo) closely.

My first game drive was in the afternoon, before we went to ride, Novi (Our Guide) gave us a lotion/cream to make bugs keep away from us (prevention from malaria too). It is some kind of procedure that we have to follow because some disease can be caused by bugs. When we drive, we mustn’t touch anything even just a branch or leaves. I asked “why?” and the answer just the same, for health and safety. Don’t ask if you can jump out off car and walk freely out there, because the answer is absolutely NO. It is a lil’ bit sad for me, and for my own safety, i have to be satisfied with just watch the animal closely from the car -___-”.

In the evening, we were entertained by local citizen (Zulu Tribe). They were dancing and singing around the fire camp. Lesecho (local citizen from Zulu) taught me how to speak Zulu language. Wala Wala Walaaa (it means welcome, if i’m not mistaken :-P ).

Mabula is not as big as Kruger. Here, the animal is fewer than Kruger (just my assumption), that’s why i kept my eyes open to see any animals inside it. If you lucky enough, you can see the Big Five too. Unfortunately, i couldn’t find the Bull, Elephant, and Leopard.

Early in the morning before breakfast, we drove again. In the morning, i could see animals out to find their prey. Many kinds of Birds also perch on branches or walk freely on the ground. The hippopotamus just lazying around as always ^.^

Table Mountain, No Need any Struggle for Going to the Top

It was Spring at that time, we visited this mountain at 09.00, local time. It was early October, though it was spring, i felt the cold on my feet. Yeah, i’m not familiar with four-season country. I didn’t bring any shoes on those tour, only sandals, without knowing the current season of South Africa (SA). I guess it can’t be helped.

Table Mountain is the first tourist attractions i visited in SA. I came there with enthusiasm because hiking is my hobby, even i didn’t know what kind of mountain it is. When it comes to mountain, i am excited.

When i got my ticket and get inside the entrance, the first impression i got from this mountain is “WOW!!! This is my first time, going to the top of a mountain without stepping my foot on it’s slope”. Well, i got my cable car ticket, and that’s it, i got to the top then.

Here’s some pictures i got:

John Benn Cruise, Knysna

John Benn Cruise, shore

John Benn Cruise is a name of cruiser. With those cruiser, we can cruise to Knysna Heads. Knysna Heads is the most well-known attraction in here, Knysna Heads is two great sandstone cliffs which is guarding the mouth of the lagoon and connects the estuary with the sea.

In order to cruise around Knysna Lagoon, it takes approximately one-and-a-half hour. Usually, visitors prefer cruise to Knysna Heads while enjoying the sunset. Based on the information, sunset cruise in winter departs at 17.00 and sunset cruise on summer departs at 18.00. It was spring when i got there, so the sunset cruise departed at 17.30.

John Benn Cruise has upper and lower deck and there is bar in both upper and lower deck. This cruiser is constructed from yellow wood sourced from the Knysna forest. It is also furnished with wooden furniture. That makes this cruiser looks elegant, luxurious, and cozy. Bar and restaurant inside this cruiser make a perfect circumstances, while enjoying our drink and food, we can also enjoy the views of knysna lagoon, the island edges, see the sunset, and of course the Knysna Heads.

Here are some pictures that i took in John Benn Cruise:
